Whoopi Goldberg going out of her way to support Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son will not sit well with Joe Rogan. The online influencer has been feuding with the TV show host for some time now over their politics and ideology.

Goldberg put her credibility on the line when she stated that Hunter Biden’s case was very different from that of Trump’s legal issues, because of the former’s drug problem.

Outgoing President Biden shocked everyone on Sunday when he issued a full and unconditional pardon to Hunter Biden. This came after the President shared in June that he would not use his executive authority to pardon or commute his sentence.

Hunter Biden was convicted of federal gun charges and federal tax evasion charges.

According to NBC News, Joe Biden pardoned his son for any offenses that he has “committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.”

In his statement, the President justified his decision by sharing that raw politics had infected the due process against his son.

He shared that it led to a miscarriage of justice, adding that he hoped people would understand his decision as a father and a President. The decision obviously drew immediate backlash, not just from the Republicans, but also from Democrats.

However, Whoopi Goldberg of The View appeared to support Joe Biden‘s decision while bringing Trump’s charges into the picture.

During her appearance on the latest episode, Goldberg did not agree with people accusing Biden of lying. The President had earlier stated that he would not use his Presidential powers to save his son.

Goldberg used Hunter Biden’s drug problems to justify Biden’s decision while trying to paint the picture that Trump did a bigger crime because he had no drug problem. She shared on the episode:
It’s a precedent for all of us to open our eyes because we’ve elected someone who is in a similar situation, who didn’t have a drug problem, who knew what he was doing.

So I think for many, many reasons, this is very different than any other situation that we have ever dealt with.
Goldberg’s take on the matter is sure to draw criticism, especially from Joe Rogan. Rogan and Goldberg represent two extreme ends of the media and see each other as the adversary.

Rogan claims that his unfiltered podcast spreads the truth when compared to The View‘s propagandist talk show. Goldberg’s side claims that Rogan spreads fake news while their show airs after being fact-checked.

Joe Rogan and Whoopi Goldberg Have Been Going At Each Other For A Long Time

Joe Rogan and The View did not see eye-to-eye for a long time. The comedian-turned-podcaster had previously clashed with hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg.

During a podcast episode with Coleman Hughes as a guest, he went on to express his disdain against the show with some not-so-nice words.

Rogan called the show and its host “a rabies-infested hen house.” He went on to share that most of the show’s audiences were hate-watchers rather than a bunch of loyal audiences. He shared:

Their audience is not really their audience. A lot of them are paid… When the show gets really, really popular… those people will try to get tickets… but otherwise, they probably don’t need to use the service anymore.

Rogan has also promoted some of the insensitive comments of his guests against the show and Goldberg. The View host has been calling him out for allegedly spreading fake news (via Variety).

In a post-election episode, she shared that podcasts like Rogan’s are driving the left away from X. Her co-host Joy Behar shared about Rogan in the episode, “We went from Walter Cronkite, to this guy, Joe Rogan, who believes in dragons.”

It is expected that Rogan would comment on Goldberg’s support for the Bidens.
