At 44, Quad Webb Finally Admits What We All Suspected
The drama on “Married to Medicine” reached new heights last season when Dr. Gregory “Dr. G” Lunsford returned to the show, this time with his new, much younger wife, LaTasha “Sweet Tea” Lunsford. For longtime fans, this was a surreal moment—Dr. G’s explosive divorce from Quad Webb had been one of the show’s defining storylines.
Now, he was parading his new bride while Quad’s own relationships with her castmates were strained, making every interaction even more awkward.
Sweet Tea, bold and unafraid, quickly established herself as a force, openly sharing how she pursued Dr. G and was ready to give him the family he always wanted—something he never had with Quad, who had prioritized her career and independence over starting a family.
Sweet Tea didn’t shy away from comparisons with Quad, facing shade and subtle digs with confidence. Meanwhile, Quad responded with mockery, criticizing Sweet Tea’s personality and style, but while Quad was busy throwing shade, Sweet Tea was living in Quad’s former home, married to her ex, and embracing a soft, luxurious life.
Determined to reclaim her status, Quad returned to season 11 with a new man named King—a grand gesture to show she had moved on and “upgraded.” Their relationship was on full display: extravagant dates, lavish gifts, and even a surprise Rolls-Royce for Quad’s birthday.
This was her victory lap, proof that she was thriving post-divorce—or so it seemed.
But everything changed during a cast couple’s trip. After a few too many drinks, Quad’s true feelings surfaced. Instead of reveling in her new life, she began ranting about Dr. G, throwing jabs at Sweet Tea and making it clear she still saw herself as superior. The emotional outburst revealed that Quad wasn’t as over Dr. G as she wanted everyone to believe.
Meanwhile, Dr. G’s own reaction—scolding Sweet Tea for arguing with Quad—exposed cracks in his new marriage, as Sweet Tea refused to be silenced or controlled.
The other couples couldn’t help but notice: despite their divorce being finalized years ago, Quad and Dr. G’s unresolved tension was palpable. Quad’s new partner King watched as she invested more energy into old wounds than their own relationship. Dr. G, too, was clearly still emotionally triggered by his ex-wife’s presence.
Quad spent the season trying to prove she’d moved on, but the trip shattered that illusion. Her need to taunt Sweet Tea, compare herself, and brag about her new relationship all pointed to unresolved trauma.
Even during a lighthearted trivia game, Quad couldn’t resist boasting about her s3x life, while Sweet Tea tried to one-up her. The competition between the two women only highlighted how unsettled both were in their new roles.
Dr. Mimi Sanders, the show’s resident psychiatrist, tried to offer insight, but Quad wasn’t ready to listen. The truth was clear: Quad Webb hasn’t truly moved on.
If she wants to break free from this cycle, she’ll need more than luxury gifts—she’ll need real healing and self-reflection, because no amount of external success can fix a heart that’s still wounded.
