The couple married in 2002, but their relationship faced significant hurdles. Shaunie filed for divorce in 2007, though they briefly attempted to reconcile before ultimately finalizing their divorce in 2011.

By then, they shared four sons, in addition to children O’Neal had from previous relationships.

“My daughter had her sweet 16 in May, right before the wedding. We were at the birthday party together, and he’s like, ‘Well, am I invited to the wedding?’ And I was like, ‘Of course you are,’” she shared, admitting she playfully rolled her eyes at the request.
