Tia Mowry’s 13-year-old son, Cree, is making it clear that acting isn’t in his future, despite growing up in a family of actors.

During an exclusive interview with *E! News*, Cree opened up about why he’s chosen a different path from his mom, Tia, and his father, Corey Hardrict, who are both well-known in the entertainment industry. While many might have expected Cree to follow in their footsteps, he has firmly decided to carve out his own journey.

Why Tia Mowry's Son Cree Feels Acting "Isn't in the Cards" for Him | E! News

When asked if he had any plans to pursue acting, Cree confidently replied, “Most definitely not.” He explained that he already has a goal he’s working toward and acting simply doesn’t fit into that vision.

“I kind of dropped it when I was like nine,” Cree shared. “I feel like it wasn’t in the cards for me. So, I decided to focus on basketball instead.” For Cree, basketball has become a significant passion, and he’s dedicating his time and effort to excelling in the sport.

Interestingly, Cree also revealed another unique interest: aviation. “Flying’s a little hobby that I picked up,” he said, crediting one of his best friends, Avery, who is training to join the Air Force.

Cree’s fascination with aviation has even made him an expert in planning family vacations. Tia praised her son’s knowledge of aviation, noting that he often takes the lead when it comes to organizing their trips. “Kids always have a say when it comes to vacations—what to do, where to go, what to eat—so why not let them take charge and let their imagination run wild?” Tia said.

Why Tia Mowry's Son Cree Doesn't Want to Act

The interview also shed light on Tia’s younger daughter, seven-year-old Cairo, who has her sights set on becoming an astronaut. Tia proudly shared that Cairo has a strong interest in science and is incredibly smart, even playing chess at such a young age.

It’s clear that both of Tia’s children are pursuing their unique passions, supported by their mother’s encouragement.

As a single parent, Tia finds joy in watching her kids grow into thoughtful and independent individuals. She highlighted how much Cree has stepped up to help around the house as he’s gotten older.

“Now that he’s older and I’m a single parent, he’s been extremely helpful,” Tia shared. Cree takes on responsibilities like chores, cooking, and helping his mom in various ways. Every Monday, the mother-son duo spends time cooking together, which Tia described as a special bonding experience.

For Tia, the most rewarding part of motherhood has been seeing her children flourish in their own unique ways. Whether it’s Cree’s dedication to basketball and aviation or Cairo’s love for science and dreams of space exploration, Tia takes pride in nurturing their individuality.

While acting may not be in Cree’s future, he’s already making strides toward his own goals, proving that success comes in many forms.
