Whoopi Goldberg’s reaction to Cara Delevingne’s interview antics.
In 2015, the English model and actress Cara Delevingne made headlines beyond her cinematic pursuits due to a now-infamous interview on Good Morning Sacramento.
The awkward interview that started with one of the hosts referring to her as “Carla” quickly went from bad to worse. The interaction between the actress and the show hosts was soon one of the topics of discussion on social media.
While some supported the actress, others criticized her for unprofessional behavior during the interview. Amidst the divided opinions on Delevingne’s conduct, the Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg also called her out when the topic came up during a discussion on The View.
Cara Delevingne’s Awkward Interview That Went Viral
Following her acting debut in the early 2010s, Cara Delevingne landed one of the initial leading roles alongside Nat Wolff in the 2015 film Paper Towns. While promoting the movie, she appeared on Good Morning Sacramento.
The interview went viral, mostly due to the awkward interaction between the actress and the show hosts. The now-infamous interview started with one of the hosts addressing Delevingne as “Carla.” Upon being asked how she manages several projects, she answered, “I don’t know where that comes from.”
Her sarcastic responses continued when asked if she could relate to her character in the movie. “No, I actually hate her,” she replied. The lack of enthusiasm in the actress prompted the show hosts to suggest that she might be exhausted and humorously advised her to “take a little nap, maybe get a Red Bull.”
The interaction divided the internet, with many pointing out the rude behavior of the show hosts and others calling Delevingne out for her unprofessionalism. Even The View host, Whoopi Goldberg, didn’t hold back when it came to addressing the entire situation on her talk show.
Whoopi Goldberg’s Advice to Cara Delevingne
Cara Delevingne’s interview on Good Morning Sacramento went viral, specifically due to the awkward interaction between the actress and the show’s hosts. People had divided opinions on the issue, and so was the situation when the topic came up in an episode of The View.
While Raven-Symoné tried defending the 31-year-old actress, Whoopi Goldberg straight called her out, noting that the Suicide Squad actress was still a “newbie.” Goldberg further stated, “I’m sorry. You know, she’s not a famous actress. She’s a newbie. She’s not famous.”
She also noted that being in show business can sometimes be overwhelming. However, she also acknowledged the need to endure or tolerate such situations. “Suck it up,” she shared her thoughts before adding, “That was not the way to handle that Cara, it just wasn’t.” She also talked about the same during an interview with Glamour, stating that these are some of the challenges that come with a career as an actress.
