Crew member Nikki Cain cried when the cohosts celebrated her engagement live on the air: “I grew up at the show.”

Tears of joy (not the Behar variety) flowed heavily on Monday’s episode of The View.
Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg made Nikki Cain, an associate social media producer, tear up live on the air after kicking off the broadcast with a sweet tribute to her recent engagement.
“Before we do anything, I want to congratulate the young lady you’re going to see, she takes pictures around here from time to time. She just got engaged this week,” the 68-year-old said as the camera cut to Cain, who stood in the audience.
Cain began to cry as Ana Navarro recounted hearing the news over the weekend, revealing that she got a surprise call from her colleague just before filming a contributor segment for CNN.

“On Saturday, she called me, FaceTimed me, I knew the minute I saw it come in,” Navarro said. “We love you.”
Sunny Hostin praised Cain and her husband-to-be for being “together for five years,” and called the union between Nikki and James Rainey “a match made in heaven,” before the show cut back to the crew member, whose face was streaked with tears.
“I grew up at the show, I know so many people here, so the fact that I get to celebrate with you all makes it the perfect ending to a perfect day,” Cain said.
Cain’s appearance marks the latest in a line of amusing cameos from behind-the-scenes View employees, after producer Brian Teta’s numerous on-camera appearances throughout 2023, a crew member named Eddie popping in to give Goldberg a surprise in July, and a camera operator who appeared to knock over a Christmas decoration at the top of the holiday season.
