Known for his contemporary Western settings and themes, writer/director Taylor Sheridan is recognized for films and shows such as Wind River, Sicario, and Yellowstone.

However, we all know what went wrong with YellowstoneThe mighty show that was once the peak of television shows came crashing down after flaws in the story, lack of character depth, and some two-dimensional dialogues written by Taylor Sheridan fell flat on an audience who had evolved from the conspiracy theories.

This has also led to intense scrutiny from fans, who compared one of the Yellowstone characters to Twilight’s lead, Bella Swan, a contentious character in her own right.

Taylor Sheridan’s bad writing made for Kristen Stewart’s Twilight redemption!

Season 3, episode 1 of Yellowstone introduced us to Monica Dutton, who thought it would be a good idea to educate the youth who were on their phones, talking about the end of the world, and how a handful of the rich were controlling everyone.

Although the dialogues could have been better, the whole confrontation felt absolutely forced, and no one really cared for it. It felt like those cringeworthy movies where the heroes destroyed the entire city for the sake of a villain, and after defeating him, they feel proud of what they’ve done.

These scenes in Yellowstone were so terrible that fans couldn’t help but share their opinions on Reddit, where a fan compared Monica Dutton to Kristen Stewart’s character from Twilight.

However, fans quickly pointed out that Kristen Stewart’s acting was fabulous; it was just the dialogue and screenplay that were subpar, a similar issue that occurred with Kelsey Asbille in Yellowstone.

Fun fact: Monica Dutton calls it a “waste of my f*cking time,” but it was she who was actually late to the class, and as for the students, they paid to be there. Fans were not at all happy about how the character of Monica Dutton was handled by Taylor Sheridan in Yellowstone.

However, one good thing that happened from all of it was that Kristen Stewart’s terrible performance as Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise found some form of redemption in the eyes of fans after all these years, all thanks to Dutton’s cringiness.

Why Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone fell off its high horse!

The show started off as an average cowboy flick with the introduction of the Duttons, who were the owners of The Ranch. Land encroachment and government officials kick-started the series, and Taylor Sheridan paved the way for multiple plotlines and side-stories, only to abandon them halfway.

Critics have often noted that Taylor Sheridan’s stories were often twisted and meandering, with no particular plot point in focus. Sheridan would often introduce new problems, villains, or storylines, only to abandon them midway.

The plot armor was harshly criticized because heroes would recover major wounds in no time, while everyone against the Dutton family would meet their creator in a matter of seconds. Although the show was once well-loved and deemed as one of the best TV shows out there, it seems that Taylor Sheridan couldn’t keep up to the mark.

Nevertheless, the show taught people how not to end a series, and although the world was hurt by the downfall of a show like Yellowstone, you can’t please everyone, right?

Yellowstone is available to stream on Peacock (USA).
