Taylor Sheridan is known as a genius who often does what he wants. Despite being the creator and writer of some iconic movies and series like Wind River, Hell or High Water, and Tulsa King, Sheridan isn’t the best guy to make a Hollywood show with.
Fans had had enough of Sheridan’s drama since people called him a conservative who was just trying to push his weird ideologies to the audience through his shows and projects. Well, it seems that people are comparing Sheridan to DCEU director Zack Snyder… and things are not looking good.
Taylor Sheridan fumbled up Yellowstone and 1923 big time
It was the year 2018 when iconic creator Taylor Sheridan wrote the 1st season of a show titled Yellowstone. Starring Kevin Costner in the lead role, the show was a contemporary Western with ranchers and government officials trying to encroach on their property.

Although the show received critical acclaim and worldwide fame, it had its fair share of brutal moments and criticism from the audience and critics alike, which impacted the legacy of Taylor Sheridan.
One of the most controversial things in Yellowstone that happened was the sudden departure and exit of lead star Kevin Costner. Due to a creative difference, Costner walked off the Yellowstone set. Sheridan took the controversial decision of killing John Dutton, the main character of the entire show for 5 seasons, off-screen!
This moment received a major backlash from fans around the world since they weren’t able to give a proper send-off to Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, despite the years he portrayed the role. Even the prequel to Yellowstone (titled 1923) isn’t doing too good since fans are complaining about the overuse of the bleakness of the show.
More so, it seems that fans have had enough of Sheridan’s shenanigans since during their talks on the internet, fans compared Taylor Sheridan with Zack Snyder and how their standalone work has been received.
Taylor Sheridan and Zack Snyder are similar
Although Sheridan is credited with some good works like Wind River, Hell or High Water, and Sicario, those have been his standalone projects and not part of a bigger universe.

Almost exactly similar are the works of Zack Snyder. Although the director is known for directing movies like Army of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen, he is also known as the head in charge of the DCEU, and we all know how that went. Movies like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received terrible ratings and poor reviews, and Snyder’s DCEU was hailed for creating some of the worst DC movies ever made.
That is what people were saying on Reddit when a person talked about the poor work of Taylor Sheridan and how everything that the creator has done till now has been completely devoid of logic.
Yes, both the directors/writers/creators are damn good in their own iconic way. However, when it comes to taking charge of a big cinematic universe (like the DCEU) or creating a franchise out of a show (like Yellowstone), Zack Snyder and Taylor Sheridan aren’t the best people to work with.
Despite the negative reaction from the public and critics, Taylor Sheridan and Zack Snyder are still keeping their good standing in Hollywood and working on several projects at the same time.
Although the show had its ups and downs, one thing that the series did was put the name of Taylor Sheridan on the Hollywood map. Yellowstone currently stands at a rating of 8.6/10 on IMDb and a high of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
