The Latest Drama Surrounding TI and Tiny
Rapper TI, known for his self-proclaimed title as the “King of the South,” and his wife, singer Tiny, are once again making headlines, but not for their music.

Recently, they were arrested on drug charges, adding to their long history of legal troubles and family drama.
Born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. on September 25, 1980, in Atlanta, TI grew up in a challenging environment. Raised by his grandparents, he began rapping at a young age and hustling to support his family.
By the time he was a teenager, he was selling candy at school and later transitioned into more dangerous activities, including drug dealing. His early life was marked by arrests and violence, but music became his ticket out.
In 1999, TI signed his first record deal with Arista Records, releasing his debut album, *I’m Serious*, in 2001. The album flopped, but he persevered, rebranding himself and ultimately signing with Atlantic Records.
By 2003, he launched his own label, Grand Hustle, and released the influential album *Trap Muzik*, which went platinum and solidified his status in the hip-hop world.

Over the years, TI has faced numerous legal issues, including a significant arrest in 2007 for attempting to purchase illegal firearms. He served a year in federal prison but returned to music with a vengeance, releasing hits like “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life.” However, his legal troubles continued, including multiple arrests for drug possession alongside Tiny.
TI and Tiny, whose real name is Tameka Cottle, began dating in 2001 and married in 2010. Their relationship has been tumultuous, marked by infidelity rumors and legal issues. In 2016, Tiny filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, but the couple ultimately reconciled.
In 2019, TI sparked outrage when he revealed he accompanied his teenage daughter to gynecologist appointments to ensure her virginity. This controversial statement drew widespread backlash, leading to accusations of controlling behavior.

The couple faced even more serious allegations in 2021 when over 30 women accused them of drugging and sexually assaulting them over a span of 15 years. Although TI and Tiny denied the allegations, VH1 pulled their reality show, *TI & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle*, off the air. An investigation was opened, but by September 2021, the statute of limitations had expired, preventing any charges from being filed.
In 2024, a new lawsuit emerged from an Air Force veteran who claimed TI and Tiny drugged and assaulted her in 2005. Despite the serious nature of these allegations, the couple continued to deny wrongdoing, stating that all their interactions were consensual.
Despite the controversies, 2024 turned out to be a good year for TI and Tiny as they won a $71 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment for allegedly stealing the image of Tiny’s girl group, the OMG Girls. This victory significantly boosted their financial standing, bringing their net worth to an estimated $30 million.
Recently, TI announced his retirement from live performances, stating that his last major show would be the Jingle Ball concert in December 2023. However, given his history of comebacks, many wonder if this retirement will stick. TI thrives on the spotlight, and fans speculate that he may pivot towards more business ventures or even reality TV.
As the couple navigates their complex relationship and legal battles, one thing is clear: the drama surrounding TI and Tiny is far from over.
