She was awakened by a call from her brother-in-law, Alaina’s father, who shared the terrible news that Alaina had gone out with friends and hadn’t returned.

Tamera’s husband, Adam Housley, rushed to Thousand Oaks to find their niece, while Tamera anxiously stayed behind, making frantic calls to emergency hotlines. The family’s worst fears were confirmed when Alaina’s father called to say she was among those lost in the tragedy.

Just months after losing her niece, Tamera and her family suffered another heartbreaking loss: the passing of her beloved grandmother, whom she affectionately called Grandma C, in January 2019.

Tamera shared her grief on Instagram, posting heartfelt tributes and photos, and revealing that cancer was the cause of her grandmother’s death. “You are the strongest person I know,” Tamera wrote. “You are the matriarch of our family. Every beautiful thing flows from you.”

Despite these tragedies, Tamera has found strength in her marriage and family. She has been married to Adam Housley for over a decade, and together they have two children, son Aden and daughter Ariah.
