Reports and videos have recently surfaced claiming the “discovery” of a “secret room” or “hidden room” at  Graceland, Elvis Presley’s iconic mansion, 48 years after his death. Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977.

These reports, often from online sources and YouTube channels, frequently refer to the upstairs of  Graceland as Elvis’s “private sanctuary,” which has remained largely untouched and off-limits to the public since his passing. It’s often described as a place “frozen in time,” containing his personal belongings and furniture.

Some of these dramatic claims suggest a newly “unlocked” or “revealed” space, with speculation ranging from secret basements with shocking discoveries to hidden personal artifacts and unreleased recordings.

However, it’s important to note that while the upstairs of Graceland has historically been kept private out of respect for Elvis and his family, it’s not a newly “discovered” or completely unknown area.

Graceland has always had areas not accessible on the standard public tour, including the upstairs and certain storage areas. Elvis’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, had spoken about a highly secure, fireproof, earthquake, and tornado-proof room on the grounds where some of Elvis’s most precious possessions were stored, which she could access.

This particular room was described as being so secret that cameras were turned off during a tour with Oprah Winfrey before they approached it.

The recent buzz seems to stem from a renewed focus and perhaps a more dramatic presentation of these previously off-limits or less-discussed areas, rather than a genuine new discovery of a completely unknown room.

The upstairs, in particular, has long been a subject of fascination for fans, and its continued privacy has contributed to its mystique.
