Diddy‘s defense team has reportedly submitted a $1 million bond proposal as Cassie‘s friend, Deonte Nash, and her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, express “grave concern” about the 55-year-old’s potential release from jail.
More Diddy’s Defense Team’s Reported $1 Million Bond Proposal
According to CNN, Diddy’s defense team reportedly submitted a $1 million bond proposal to Judge Subramanian. This, reportedly in the hours following the reading of his mixed verdict. Per the outlet, the defense is asking that the 55-year-old be released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. This, as he awaits his sentencing on his conviction on two prostitution charges.
As part of their proposal, his defense is offering a $1 million bond signed by Diddy himself, Janice Combs, his sister, and Sarah Chapman. To note, Chapman is the mother of his eldest daughter, Chance Combs.
Furthermore, they’re proposing that the 55-year-old’s travel be restricted to California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Per the outlet, Diddy maintains homes in Los Angeles and Miami. Additionally, he would need to meet with his attorneys in New Jersey and Florida.
In addition, Diddy would surrender his passport and submit to drug testing along with “all other standard conditions of pretrial supervision.”
“Mr. Combs has already been incarcerated for 10 months. His sentencing exposure — which we fully respect and do not seek to minimize in any way — is in fact low, and so is any corresponding risk of flight,” the proposal reportedly reads in part, per the outlet.
Deonte Nash, Cassie’s Friend, & Her Lawyer Douglas Wigdor Express “Grave Concern” About 55-Year-Old’s Potential Release
Per the outlet, the court received a letter from Deonte Nash following Diddy’s mixed verdict. To note, Nash testified as a witness for the prosecution amid Diddy’s trial. Furthermore, he largely spoke to Diddy’s alleged physical abuse of Cassie. And his alleged controlling behavior toward Casie during their romance.
Per the outlet, Nash noted his “grave concern” about Diddy’s potential release from MDC.
“While I appreciate the fairness you have shown throughout this proceeding, I feel compelled to be unequivocal about the danger he poses to the public and to the individuals who have risked everything by coming forward. Mr. Combs has a long, well-documented history of violent, coercive, and retaliatory behavior.
Over the years, he has repeatedly escaped meaningful accountability, and each time this has only reinforced his sense of impunity. If he is released now, I have no doubt he will see it as yet another license to continue intimidating, threatening, and harming people who challenge or expose him,” he reportedly wrote.
Per the outlet, Cassie’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, submitted a letter to Judge Subramanian also detailing their concern about Diddy’s potential release from MDC.
“We write as counsel for Casandra Ventura… to respectfully request that the court deny Mr. Combs to be released pending his sentencing on two convictions… detention is mandatory post convicrion on these charges, and Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community,” the letter reads.
When Will Diddy’s Potential Release From MDC Be Decided?
Per CNN, Diddy’s bail hearing has been scheduled for 5 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 2. Prosecutors are also opposing his release from MDC.
