**Congratulations! Rapper Common & Jennifer Hudson Finally Share Exciting News – It’s a Blessing!**
Rapper and actor Common has recently opened up about his relationship with Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy-winning singer Jennifer Hudson, and fans are celebrating what he calls a “wonderful blessing.
The couple, both Chicago natives, have been quietly dating for some time, but only recently have they begun to share more about their relationship with the public.
In a candid interview on The Breakfast Club, Common (real name Lonnie Lynn) spoke about how his relationship with Jennifer Hudson has brought him a sense of grounding and connection to his roots.
He explained that being with someone from his hometown has allowed him to spend more time in Chicago, reconnecting with family and friends and drawing inspiration for his latest music project, “The Auditorium.” Common shared, “Having a lady just from Chicago allows me to go home and just be home. I hadn’t done that in a while, just going home and being around my loved ones without any work to do.
That helped me with this album because you always have to recharge and plug into your roots, no matter how much you’ve elevated.”
During the interview, co-host Charlamagne Tha God commented that it sounded like Common was building a real foundation with Hudson. Common responded by reflecting on his past relationships, saying, “With all due respect to all the women I’ve dated, it’s all love, but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship.”
He went on to recall a moment on the set of the film “Breathe,” which the couple co-starred in, where Hudson bought ice cream for everyone—a gesture that reflected her kindness and warmth. “I like people who treat others well,” Common noted.
Perhaps the most exciting revelation came when Common stated, “If I’m going to get married, it’s to her. That’s as simple as that.” This strong declaration of commitment has thrilled fans, especially since both Common and Hudson have never been married before.
Their relationship reportedly began in July 2022, when they were seen dining together in Philadelphia. In January, Common confirmed their romance during an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” and their bond has only grown stronger since.
However, sources close to the couple say Hudson is cautious about marriage, given her past failed engagement to David Otunga and Common’s history of high-profile relationships. According to insiders, Hudson is hesitant to settle down quickly, not wanting to risk another broken relationship.
Despite these concerns, Common has expressed his belief in “divine timing” when it comes to marriage. On “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” he shared, “When God speaks into your stomach and you feel it in your heart and your spirit, why not?”
Both Common and Hudson are parents: Common shares a daughter with his ex-girlfriend Kim Jones, and Hudson has a son with her ex-fiancé David Otunga.
As the couple continues to nurture their relationship, fans are hopeful that this will be the beginning of a lasting partnership. Their story is one of love, mutual respect, and finding joy in life’s blessings. With both stars thriving in their careers and personal lives, Common and Jennifer Hudson’s exciting news is truly something to celebrate.
