I remember my first pair of Birkenstocks — the classic double strap Birko-Flor in neon orange.
They were hanging up in the grocery store in France (yes, you can buy your bread and Birks at the same time over there) and as soon as I slipped them on, I never wanted to take them off… so I didn’t.
Therefore, it wasn’t a surprise when I learned that the infamous Whoopi Goldberg also refuses to take off her Birkenstocks.
In a piece published in The Strategist, Goldberg even jokes that she wears her Birks so much that her feet look like them when she’s not wearing them.
“Wow. Wow. I do live in mine,” Goldberg said. “They’re not the most attractive, but boy do they make your feet feel good.”
