Hol’ up! Not Common and Jennifer Hudson putting each other in the hot seat!
Jennifer Hudson Confronts Her Boyfriend About His Recent Comments On Marriage
Roommates, as y’all may know Common recently spoke about his relationship with Jennifer Hudson and whether or not he sees marriage in their future.
Well, he recently appeared on an episode of J.Hud’s talk show, which aired on Thursday (Oct. 3), and she put him on the spot, asking him to clarify his comments.
“I heard you been out there talking about marriage, now, what’s that about? I mean… I just happen to notice that,” Jennifer Hudson says.
Common then replied to J.Hud, saying that he was asked about marriage, and he answered honestly.
“You know what you told me a quote that your mother said: ‘A man knows what he wants,’ And listen, I was just saying my true feelings. If I should be married it would be to Jennifer Kate Hudson. I was just being honest,” Common continued.
The rapper then flipped the script on Hudson asking her about her feelings for him.
“You know what? My mother was right. I think that if she had met you, I know she would say, ‘I don’t know about the rest of them but that Common is alright with me.’ And I would agree, I think it’s a [beautiful] thing. I think you are a deserving man,” Hudson said.
Here’s What Common Previously Said About Marriage
As TSR reported, Common discussed his relationship with Jennifer and shared his views on marriage during an interview on Philly’s 100.3 R&B radio show.
‘The Light’ rapper said they were in a “good” place and expressed gratitude for her.
The Grammy Award-winning musician called Jennifer Hudson “the prototype and the person” when discussing marriage. He added that he takes marriage seriously and wants to be certain about his commitment before making that decision.
“And if I was to make that choice, it would be coming from the relationship that I’m in and also me saying this is what’s best for [us]. And her feeling like what’s best for us,” Common explained.
More Info About The Couple’s Relationship
Rumors about J.Hud and Common dating began in November 2023, after the Daily Mail posted footage of the two together in New York City.
Earlier this year, Common confirmed their relationship during his appearance on Jennifer Hudson’s talk show.
In a teaser clip for her show, Jennifer asked the ‘Just Wright’ star if he was seeing anyone. With a laugh, he confirmed he was taken and hinted at dating J.Hud by mentioning her status as an EGOT winner.
“Yes, I’m in a relationship that’s one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met in life and she’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down to Earth about her. She’s talented, but I set my standard kinda high cause she had to have a EGOT. She had to win an Oscar on her first movie. I set my standards high. She had to get her own talk show,” Common said.
